Stretchy sago starch you swallow, not chew
Think of it as: Like a giant spoonful of clear, warm wallpaper paste with hot sauce
Don't chew. Twirl and swallow.
What does it taste like?
Almost flavorless on its own; the tangy, fiery dipping sauce does the talking.

What is it?
Sago starch whisked with boiling water into a stretchy, glue-like mass. You twirl it onto a pair of joined bamboo sticks called a candas, dip it in a sour, spicy sauce and swallow it whole.Source: Wikipedia

- 200 g sago starch
- 200 ml cold water
- 600 ml boiling water
- 2 chillies
- 1 lime

Can't find it? Tapioca (cassava) starch works in place of sago starch.
How to make it (one way)
- Dissolve the starch in the cold water.
- Pour in the boiling water all at once and stir fast.
- Stop when it turns clear and gluey.
- Make a sour, spicy dip (cacah) with chilli and lime.
- Twirl a ball onto the candas, dip and swallow without chewing.
⚠️ It's swallowed whole, so watch young kids and older eaters for choking.
